In partnership with the Office of Assistant Minority Floor Leader Stella Luz A. Quimbo, the PCC, through its Legislative Liaison Office (PCC-LLO), will be conducting its

Capacity Improvement on Competition Advocacy for Legislative Staff (CICALS)

on 28 May 2020 at 1:00 PM. The House of Representatives leg of CICALS will be a webinar on the basics of competition law and policy, the powers and functions of the PCC, and the role of competition during this time of global crisis.

The conduct of CICALS is part of LLO’s strategic initiative profile for the year 2020, in order to meet the Commission’s strategic objective of reviewing potentially anti-competitive legislation and policies that may substantially prevent, restrict, or lessen competition in the market. Considering the vital role that the legislative branch of government plays in shaping the country’s legal and regulatory system, CICALS intends to capacitate both the staff of legislators and members of Congressional Committee Secretariat on detecting competition issues in pending legislative measures.

PROGRAM
The webinar will start at 1:00 PM. For further inquiries, kindly e-mail legis@phcc.gov.ph.
