The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), in partnership with the World Bank Group, conducted a moot court exercise that enhanced the skills of PCC lawyers, economists, and other staff in pursuing legal strategies for competition cases.

The workshop took place at Astoria Plaza Hotel in Ortigas Center on October 18-19, 2017.

The workshop was conducted by Professor Francisco Aguero of the Economic Law Department of the University of Chile School of Law and Dr. Graciela Miralles Murciego of the World Bank Group. Dr. Robert Martin N. Galang, private sector development specialist for the World Bank Group, was also present to provide participants with valuable insights.

The first day of the workshop was dedicated to the pre-hearing stage of a litigation as well as consultation. On the second day, participants were grouped into teams and took part in mock prosecution and defense oral arguments. Afterwards, all participants were given feedback on their written briefs and said oral arguments.
